An overview of vaping’s history

How the idea of vaping came about.

Herbert A. Gilbert is registered as the first person who had the idea to create an electronic cigar to smoke and replace tobacco. In the mid-60s he decided to patent the product and presented it as a healthier product than tobacco because he knew all the damage that could cause the cigar, However, this idea did not have any success since at that time cigars were completely accepted by society, people smoked anywhere and did not consider the cigar as something dangerous to health.

A pioneer of modern vaping.

Subsequently, in 2003, the Chinese pharmacist Hon Lik proposed an alternative similar to Helbert’s. Lik proposed the idea of using a piezoelectric ultrasonic light emitting element to vaporize a jet of nicotine liquid containing diluted propylene glycol in solution. This design produces a smoky vapor that can be inhaled and allows the release of nicotine into the bloodstream through the lungs. Hon was an active and regular tobacco smoker, like his father, and decided to quit after his father died of lung cancer.

The pharmacist was motivated by this to look for a less harmful alternative, and returning to the studies of Herbert A. Gilbert, started from scratch.

He noticed that the use of nicotine patches and pills reduced smoking, but their effect was not very long-lasting, as there was only a 7% chance of quitting smoking a year after starting treatment. Hon Lik deduced that the smoker is not only addicted to nicotine but also cigarettes, put it in his mouth, and feel the smoke filling his lungs. Proof of this is that in our social security the use of nicotine tablets and chewing gum is not covered by social security, as they do not prove to be effective enough to quit smoking, or at least it is not covered for the most part.

Vaping’s acceptance in international communities.

Hon Lik’s success was spreading around the world and suddenly electronic cigars became fashionable in European countries. Many people know Europeans by their smoking and this transition was phenomenal. In 2007, electronic cigarettes entered the US market.

With the rise of electronic cigarettes the world health organization wanted to intervene to be the first international organization to make public reference to this product. When WHO did not publish negative effects, it boosted reliability on these and demand rose impressively. Later studies were carried out and it was shown that this product had no chemical agents which we would have to worry it was also shown that those chemicals are between 100 and 1000 times less harmful than cigars.

Although the basic concept of the digital cigarette has remained practically the same during the last decade, the modern vape has acquired a completely new look and uses a completely different technology from the original.

Vaping today

On the one hand, instead of using an ultrasonic atomizer as a heating element, most conventional devices now feature a cartomizer, a combination of cartridge and atomizer, or a similar version, such as a cartomizer. Another way modern vaping has evolved is the number of e-liquid options available. The first digital cigarettes only came in 2 or 3 flavors at most.

Fortunately, times have changed and vapers can now choose from a heterogeneous mix of different mixtures. Here in Vapenebula, you have a lot of e-liquid flavor options with the best combinations you can find on the market.

Today millions of people have opted for vapes or vaporizers and millions more are making the change. Smoking a vape or electronic cigar is just as common as smoking a regular cigar on a plane or in your office, but there’s a big difference in what each one does to your lungs, Public health representatives from England revealed a study that said vaping is 95% safer than smoking a cigarette.

This product has managed to save many lives and probably that is the reason why electronic cigars reached that fame and recognition around the world. It is a great, much healthier alternative to quit smoking and have a healthier life by reducing the risks of having some disease in the airways.
